Two people charged in connection with Rochdale murder

Two people have been charged in connection with a murder investigation in Rochdale.
Martin McBrine (17/10/1974), of Rochdale, has been charged with murder and Harry Mee (29/12/1948), also of Rochdale, has been charged with assisting an offender.
Both men have been remanded to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday 15 August 2018.
A 69-year-old woman who was arrested on Sunday (12 August 2018) has been bailed pending further enquiries. A 49-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action.
The charges are in relation to an investigation launched in Rochdale over the weekend.
At around 10:15pm on Saturday 11 August 2018, emergency services were called to a property on Palatine Street to reports of an unresponsive man.
On arrival, officers discovered the body of a man who has since been formally identified as 49-year-old Lee McConnell.
