Changes to taxi ranks in Rochdale town centre

Taxis in Rochdale town centre

The taxi rank on The Butts will become a shared rank from this Friday (17 August) for taxi drivers and market stall holders.

The Butts taxi rank will only be permitted for use by taxi drivers between the following hours on any day:

• 10am to 4pm hours
• 7pm and 7am hours

Outside the above hours, the rank will only be used by the market operators/stall holders for unloading and loading purposes and therefore taxis will not be present during those times.

Alternative ranks, which are all close to the Butts taxi rank, can be found at:

• Packer Street (in front of Yates’ Bar/Koko-Kabana Lounge Bar/The Flying Horse) - in operation at all times.
• Newgate (close to Tetrosyl head office and the old post office) - in operation from 6pm until 10am.
• Yorkshire Street (opposite Farmfoods) - in operation at all times
• River Street (behind Rochdale bus station) - in operation at all times.
