Secret to affordable holidays revealed in new book

Date published: 12 September 2018

A Rochdale woman has shared her secrets for affordable holidays in a new travel book.

Emma Grace Lovely, who has written ‘Lovely Holidays: How to Holiday on a Budget,’ believes wonderful holidays can be enjoyed by everybody.

She said: “I spent years listening to people say they can't afford a holiday, or that they love travelling and would love to be able to do it more. Time and time again, it would become clear than people were just spending a lot more on holidays then they needed to.

“I still went to the same places, I still enjoyed similar experiences, I just seemed to spend a lot less money doing it.

“People still didn't believe me, were too scared to try it for themselves, or would just forget, so I decided to write a book. I wanted to make a clear and simple step-by-step guide to help you travel more and save less.”

The former scientist claims she has even managed to go on a minimum of three holidays each year whilst at university, and five since then, without making any compromises.

She added: “For years, my mum didn’t believe I could book a holiday abroad for the same price as the caravan in Wales which we usually went to for four days.

“After a particularly dirty caravan and very drizzly weather, she asked if I would prove her wrong and book a budget holiday abroad instead. The result was five incredible days in Iceland, where we went on a tour of the Golden Circle and visited too many thermal spas. She was so happy we had an amazing holiday abroad for the same price as a caravan holiday in Wales.”

“Going on holiday is my favourite thing to do, so I have spent years trying to figure out ways to save money without compromising on having an amazing time - quite simply so that I can go away as much as possible.

“After being asked so many times “how do you do it?”, I’ve decided to share my secrets with you, so that you too can make the most of your time off.”

‘Lovely Holidays: How to Holiday on a Budget’ is currently available as a Kindle eBook and retails at £6.99, with a printed edition in the works.
