Reason: to hold the Remembrance Day memorial service.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles will be Shawfield Lane, Edenfield Road and Woodhouse Lane.

  • Rochdale Footpath 43, RocFFp43, for its entire length in an east north east direction from its junction with Oldham Road, Rochdale being 50 metres south south east from the most southerly corner of 2 Gilbrook Way, to its junction with Milnrow Footpath 331, MilFp33l.
  • Milnrow Footpath 331, MilFp33l, for its entire length in an east north east direction from its junction with RocFFp43 for 92 metres before turning in an easterly direction for 23 metres to its junction with Milnrow Footpath 329, MilFp329, and Milnrow Footpath 330, MilFp33O, being 123 metres east of the most northerly corner of 37 Sunhill Close, Rochdale.

Expected start and finish: 12.01am, Thursday, 14 December 2017 - midnight, Wednesday, 14 November 2018.
Reason: to undertake some underground cabling work.
Alternative route: there is no alternative route for pedestrians.

Expected start and finish: 4pm-midnight, Saturday, 3 November 2018 and Sunday, 4 November 2018 and 7pm-7am every night between Monday, 5 November 2018 - Wednesday, 7 November 2018.

Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles will be Manchester Road, Edinburgh Way and Edinburgh Way roundabout junction Queensway.

  • On the east side of Hollin Lane from a point 125 metres north of its junction with Hazelhurst Drive for a distance of 56 metres in a northerly direction.
  • From a point 245 metres north of its junction with Hazelhurst Drive for a distance of 52 metres in a northerly direction.

Expected start and finish: 8am, Monday, 16 July 2018 - 6pm, Wednesday, 15 January 2020.
Reason: to allow access to a housing development site. 
Alternative route: cyclists will still be able to travel down these road using the main areas of the road, not the cycle lanes.

  • Park Road for its entire length
  • Long Street, from its junction with the Assheton Way, Eastway, Long Street and Market Street roundabout to its junction with Manchester New Road
  • Manchester New Road, from its junction with Long Street to its junction with the Middleton Way and Oldham Road roundabout
  • Middleton Way and Oldham Road roundabout for its entire circumference
  • Middleton Way, both sides for its entire length
  • Manchester Old Road and Middleton Way roundabout for its entire circumference
  • Manchester Old Road from the Manchester Old Road and Middleton Way roundabout to the Garden of Remembrance

Reason: to hold the Middleton Remembrance Sunday Parade.

  • temporary closure of Heywood Footpath 117, HeyFp117, from its junction with restricted byway RocARuppl6 and footpath RocAFpl0 at Deans Brow (point A) continuing in a northerly direction for 22 metres (point B) and then proceeding in a generally north north west direction for 1,044 metres to the most southerly corner of Naden Higher Reservoir (point C).

Expected start and finish: 12.01am, Thursday, 26 April 2018 - midnight, Friday, 26 October 2018
Reason: to work on underground cables.
Alternative route: there is no alternative route for pedestrians.

  • Argyle Street, from its junction with Sutherland Road to its junction with Lochinver Grove.

Expected start and finish: 8am - 5pm each day from Monday, 22 October 2018 - Monday, 12 November 2018 as required.
Reason: as part of our additional £12 million road improvement programme, we're resurfacing the carriageway.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be Sutherland Road and Argyle Street. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles will be Cedar Avenue and Furness Avenue.

temporary road closure of the following roads, at certain times of the day:

  • L/Cpl Stephen Shaw MC Way - for its entire length. This road will be closed from 3.30pm-6pm on Saturday, 17 November 2018.
  • Tower Street - from its junction with School Street to its junction with Brunswick Street. This road and all the following roads in this list will be closed from 4pm-5pm on Saturday, 17 November 2018 to hold the parade.
  • St James Street - for its entire length.
  • Garden Street - from a point 1 metre north of Bridge Street to its junction with Bridge Street.
  • Bridge Street - from its junction with St James Street to its junction with Market Street.
  • Market Street - for its entire length.
  • Market Place - for its entire length.
  • Hind Hill Street - from its junction with Bow Lane to its junction with L/Cpl Stephen Shaw MC Way.

The alternative route for vehicles for L/Cpl Stephen Shaw Way will be York Street and Hartley Street.

The alternative route for vehicles during the parade will be Hartley Street, York Street, Queens Park Road, Bury and Rochdale Old Road, Bamford Road, West Starkey Street, Bank Top Street, Cherwell Avenue and Peel Street.

Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Reason: to replace the level crossing running rails.

Reason: to hold the Wardle Remembrance Sunday Parade. 
Alternative route:

The closure of Ramsden Road will be a rolling closure from Wardle Road to Birch Road, so it is not necessary for alternative routes to be in place.

The alternative route for the closure of Wardle Road is Ramsden Road, Birch Road and Halifax Road.

  • Who to contact: for any issues about this work, please use the following methods to gain the quickest and safest possible resolution.
  • Contractors on site - contact a site supervisor. They are best placed to resolve many issues there and then. In most instances, this will be the quickest and safest way to resolve any issue.
  • Virgin Media Helpdesk - if unresolved, or there are no contractors in the area, or if the site has been left in an unsafe manner and requires urgent attention, please ring the Virgin Media helpdesk on 0333 000 5925.
  • The helpdesk hours are: Monday-Friday, 8am-7.30pm, Saturday, 8am-12noon. The helpdesk will alert the contractor and Virgin Media's compliance engineers.
  • Alternatively, please email expansionworks@virginmedia.co.uk with details of your address and preferred contact method.
