The Great Rochd’ale’ Festival of Champions: Ale Trail 2018 – Pubs in Rochdale Town Centre, Thurs 15, Fri 16 & Sat 17 November

Three days featuring over 100 ales and ciders including many CAMRA Champion Beers of Britain and local favourites. Enjoy a drink in all 7 participating venues in the town centre and donate £1 to the Mayors Charity.

Big Christmas Weekend – Christmas Food & Craft Fayre – Gordon Rigg Garden Centre Rochdale, Sat 17 & Sun 18, 10am – 4pm & 11am – 4pm

An ideal opportunity to purchase lovely Christmas gifts that are that little bit different and to treat yourself to some delicious goodies.


Adaption of Beauty and the Beast – Bo-Jangles Theatre, Fri 16 & Sat 17, 6.30pm

Popstars Academy present a beautiful adaptation of this classic tale, for all the family to enjoy.

Voices for All: Colour Yourself Calm – Brentwood Day Centre, 10am – 12noon

The group is set up for the community to help with the stress of day to day life.


Wardle Christmas Market – Wardle Conservative Club, 6.30pm – 9.30pm

The bar will be open, its free entry and we will have a raffle too plus amazing handpicked stalls!


Charity Pub Quiz Night – Cemetery Hotel, 7.30pm – 10.30pm

To raise funds for Roch Valley Radio, the local hospital and community radio charity.


Shout! Motown & 60’s Dance Party – Ratcliffe Bars, 7pm – 1am

With DJ Dave Sweetmore (60's Classics) and Nick Robinson (Motown Floorfillers).


Castleton Literary & Scientific Society – Castleton Community Centre, 7pm

This talk is in search of "HIMBRINI" the great northern diver, presented by Gordon Yates.


The ABBA Twins Live – Norden Arms & Eatery, 8pm

The ABBA twins sing live whilst you enjoy an evening of Greek inspired food.


Live Band: Special Kinda Madness – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

The Specials and Madness together... Catch em’ now while you can!

  • Saturday 17 November

Zebracorn Slime and Bounce – Tramp2Lean Rochdale, 9.30am

Not only do you get to make your very own pots of slime but you have an hour to bounce on the trampolines too.


RADARS Annual Radio Rally – St Vincent’s de Paul’s Church Hall, doors open 10.30am

Bring & Buy as well as commercial traders and amateur radio sellers.


Heywood Christmas Festival – Heywood Town Centre, 11am – 6pm

Festive stalls, miniature train rides, Christmas concert, fun-fair, food and drink plus children’s entertainment and a lantern parade at 4.30pm.


Cats Protection Rochdale Christmas Fair – St George’s Hall, 11am – 1pm

Cat Protection Christmas cards, diaries, calendars etc for sale plus a cake stall, bric-a-brac, books, tombola and refreshments.


Christmas Market Craft Fair – Littleborough Coach House, 11am – 3pm

There will be in excess of 30 stalls throughout throughout the building, selling unusual and special Christmas gifts.


Middleton Christmas Lights Switch On – Middleton Gardens, from 12noon

With Middleton Pop Stars, TV Talent, Tracing Steps and Middleton Brass Band plus puppet and magic shows, a funfair and a photobooth.


Lunchtime Concert – Rochdale Parish Church of St Chad’s, 12noon

With students from Manchester University and the Royal Northern College of Music. This week we host Joseph Donmall - Violoncello.


Villages Unite Christmas Craft Fayre – Moonspinners Pub, 1pm – 4pm

All proceeds will go to Villages Unite Christmas party for the lonely and vulnerable elderly in Milnrow and Newhey.


Table Top Sale – Hallfold United Reformed Church, 2pm – 4pm

Hosted by Tonacliffe Primary School PTA. Pop in for a fantastic quality winter bargain or Christmas present.


MP’s Dinner with Nazir Afzal OBE – Rochdale Town Hall, arrival 7pm for 7.30pm start

Rochdale MP Tony Lloyd hosts a 4-course dinner to raise funds for the Mayor's Charity Appeal.


Peaky Blinders Winter Warmer Evening – The Wellington, 7pm – 1am

An evening of flat caps, dining, 1920’s jazz, whiskey, rum and gin by order of the Peaky Blinders.


The Bridge Centre Fashion Show – Smithy Bridge Methodist Church, 7pm

A fashion show of party and occasion wear at charity shop prices!


Live Music: The Jam’d – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

A tribute to The Jam.

  • Sunday 18 November

World Prematurity Day Family Funday – St Thomas More Church Hall, 12pm – 3pm

Christmas crafts, sand art, slime making, rock painting, messy play, face painting, bottle tombola, refreshments and much more.


A Tribute to Gareth Brookes – Empire Rochdale, 1pm – 6pm

Live music from Carl Morris, Standing in for Joe and DJ's Jimmy Mush and Paul Thompson plus more. Fantastic raffle prizes. All proceeds from the day will go to Gareth's family.


Wedding Venue Showcase – Mercure Norton Grange Hotel & Spa, 1pm – 4pm

See the function rooms dressed as they would be for your wedding day.


There but not there: A service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving – St Edmund’s Church, 3pm – 5pm

With the Greater Manchester Police Symphonic Wind Band providing music for the occasion and the Choir of Rochdale Cantare Ladies Choir supporting the service.


Narms Ravers Kids with DJ Megatron – The Norden Arms & Eatery, 3.30pm – 5.30pm

The bar will be converted into a mini nightclub for the afternoon with a 2 hour DJ set featuring lights, bubble machine, colourful parachute and much more for kids to enjoy.


Jazz on a Sunday – Newtown National Club, 8pm – 11pm

Featuring Washington Whirligig.
