Four armed robbers stole a wheelie bin full of cigarettes from the Castleton Co-op store on Grosvenor Street on Thursday evening (13 December).

The men, clad in balaclavas and gloves, were armed with an axe, and ordered the staff to stand still whilst they robbed the store between 7.24pm and 7.28pm.

Staff and customers present in store at the time were reportedly unharmed.

The thieves then loaded a blue wheelie bin with cigarettes before fleeing the scene in a red Peugeot.

The Peugeot was recovered by police on Sunday 16 December.
