St Cuthbert's RC High School students with food for the Foodbank
St Cuthbert's RC High School students have been collecting food and raising money to help those who have little or nothing to eat.
Students collected a total of 433 tins, 27 jars and 130 packets of food during the festive period.
Rochdale Foodbank said: “We are extremely grateful for the donations, especially as supplies have been depleted throughout the Christmas break. Many thanks to students and staff for their contributions and generosity.
Students also raised a total of £1,905.00 for Mary’s Meals, meaning that 137 children will be fed for a whole year in some of the poorest countries of the world.
A spokesperson for the school said: “A big thank you to students, staff, friends and families for all of the fundraising initiatives that took place during the weeks leading up to Christmas.”
