Rochdale men on trial following murder of Lee McConnell

Date published: 22 February 2019

Two men from Rochdale are standing trial at Manchester Crown Court following the death of Lee McConnell, who was killed last summer.

Martin McBrine, 44, has been charged with murder and Harry Mee, 70, has been charged with assisting an offender.

Both McBrine and Mee plead not guilty to the charges, and the trial began on 11 February.

At around 10.15pm on 11 August 2018, emergency services were called to a property on Palatine Street to reports of an unresponsive man.

On arrival, officers discovered the body of a man, who was formally identified as 49-year-old Lee McConnell.

The trial will continue on Monday (25 February).
