Firefighters rescue horse from mud

Heywood Community Fire Station animal rescue team and Ashton Technical Rescue helped rescue Mac the horse on Thursday 21 February.

Mac was lying sideways in a muddy field, with one leg which appeared to be trapped in a gate.

Mac was released and walked back to his stable to be assessed by Peter Fenton’s Equine vets.
