Kingsway Park High School students take part in annual mock trial at Burnley Magistrates Court

Date published: 25 March 2019

A group of Year 9 citizenship students from Kingsway Park High School recently took part in an annual mock trial competition against five other local schools at Burnley Magistrates Court.

The students won both of their rounds representing KPHS in their strongest performance yet, before being beaten on points.

The mock trial competition gives students an invaluable opportunity to take on the roles of prosecuting and defending lawyers, witnesses and magistrates in a real court setting amongst serving court officials and to explore what careers in law may have to offer.

Mr Davies, from Kingsway Park said: "This is a good an opportunity for the students who are studying citizenship in school, and gives them an insight into future careers for students."
