Street Eat returns to Rochdale for May Spring Bank Holiday weekend

Fans of tasty treats are in for another Bank Holiday extravaganza with the return of the Street Eat festival.

Food lovers looking for something to eat, drink and free entertainment, should head to Street Eat in Rochdale Town Hall Square on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May.

 

 

The event, sponsored by Willmott Dixon - the construction and property services company, currently building the major new Rochdale Riverside retail and leisure development in the town centre brings together the town’s best food and drink establishments, with visitors having their tastebuds tickled, their thirst quenched as well as enjoying live music and entertainment.

Tasty food from the town’s restaurant chefs will be served over the Bank Holiday weekend, with dozens of mouth-watering dishes at £3.50 each, including Spanish, Italian, English, German, American and more.

There will also be activities and rides for the children, a bar for the adults and live entertainment.

 

 

Town Centre Manager Paul Ambrose, who organises the event with support from Rochdale Borough Council, said Street Eat showcases the town’s diverse food and drink offer: “This is an important event for local eateries as it provides a real opportunity for them to get face to face feedback from customers, and they always pull out all the stops. I’m pleased this really popular event is back for its third year to bring people together through food and drink and to celebrate Rochdale’s town centre eateries in a fun festival setting. It’s family-friendly – you’ll be able to buy and try as many small dishes as you like, and it’s a great location by the town hall, handy for public transport.”

Street food traders will be selling an array of delicious food alongside a bar and live entertainment. While exact details haven’t been released yet, traders include The Baum, WowYauChow, The Medicine Tap, Issan Friends, The Clock Tower Dining Room, Riverside Restaurant by Hopwood Hall College, Vicolo de Vino and The Flying Horse Hotel.

The headline sponsor is Willmott Dixon, with support from Pulsar Property Solutions and Rochdale Round Table.

Admission is free.
