Oulder Hill pupils raise £1,500 for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary

Year seven at Oulder Hill Community School have raised £1,500 for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary

Pupils in year seven at Oulder Hill Community School have raised £1,500 for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary.

The 300 students each walked a circuit from school, in wind and rain at times, around the local area, raising a phenomenal £1,500 for the local charity.

The 16 students who raised the most sponsorship money went on a short visit to the Sanctuary on Tuesday (7 May) to deliver the cheque and find out more about Bleakholt’s work.

The students were told about all the work that the Sanctuary does and were told that their donations would go towards improving the facilities for the animals.

Sanctuary Manager, Karen Weed said: "We are so grateful to Oulder Hill Students for raising such a huge amount for Bleakholt. The money will be used to purchase equipment for our new dog sensory and exercise area. This will make such a huge difference to the dogs in our care."
