Coffee Morning raised £310 for Christian Aid

Date published: 13 May 2019

St Andrew's Church, Dearnley held a Coffee Morning on Saturday 11 May which raised £310 for Christian Aid.

The curate at St Andrew's, the Rev Anne Gilbert, said: “This week, May 12 to 18, is Christian Aid Week when the focus this year is on Sierra Leone where ten women a day die in childbirth.

"Through our gifts and prayers, we can help to give the world's poorest mums a chance to live.

"By raising this money, we can help to provide a new delivery bed so more mums in Sierra Leone can deliver their babies safely."

Rev Anne, who is preparing to be ordained priest, will take her first Eucharist in a joint Benefice service at St Andrew's on Sunday, June 23, starting at 10am.

She has recently done a sponsored walk through city-centre Manchester, starting at the Cathedral and finishing at St Ann's Church, for Christian Aid.
