Kingsway students come third in maths challenge

Date published: 21 May 2019

A group of students from Kingsway Park High School came third overall in the annual inter-school Progression Plus Programme Maths Challenge at Rochdale Sixth Form on 14 May.

The students competed in a group challenge against seven other schools in the borough.

Ms Varathan, group leader, said: “Our students displayed tremendous strategic planning and positive team spirit, along with a passion for mathematics, both when preparing for the event and whilst competing.

“During break time, they took the initiative to work through problems they had struggled with in previous rounds.

“They focused on solving problems and learning from each other. The challenges they were given were very challenging.

“The students did exceptionally well and came third overall.

“A massive well done to all five students on their achievement.”
