Churches included, Wardle Village Church; Littleborough United Reform Church; St James, Calderbrook; The Branches Fellowship; St Barnabas, Shore; Greenhill Methodist; St Mary’s RC Church; Smithy Bridge Methodist, Dearnley Methodist; St Andrews, Dearnley; and Holy Trinity, Littleborough.

Bishop Mark Davies led the clergy from the churches, and, despite the inclement weather, there was a good turn-out of congregations to celebrate the festival that is regarded as the birthday of the Christian church and the start of the church's mission to the world.

Wardle Academy Band played during the walk to Hare Hill Park.

Pentecost is the festival when Christians celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit, 50 days after Easter.

Bishop Mark Davies and the local clergy were joined by Councillors Ashley Dearnley and Janet Emsley and MP Tony Lloyd on the united Pentecost Walk.
