Vehicle overturns at major junction in Rochdale

Collision at junction of Whitworth Road, St Mary's Gate and John Street

A car overturned in a multi vehicle collision at the junction of Whitworth Road, St Mary's Gate and John Street in Rochdale town centre this morning (14 June) at around 7.30am.
An ambulance spokesperson said: “Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene. Two people have been taken to hospital. The severity of their injuries are unknown."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that one person was trapped in the overturned vehicle. Two fire engines from Rochdale and a techincal response vehicle from Ashton attended the scene.
The junction has fully reopened.
