Connections Trust raises almost £500 at carnival

Date published: 27 June 2019

Rochdale Connections Trusts’ Fundraising Team were out in force at this year’s Milnrow and Newhey Carnival on Saturday 22 June.

The trust held a huge charity tombola and had a lucky dip for children.

The event was a great success with a huge crowd of people out to see the parade of floats and enjoy the fair and stalls in Milnrow Memorial Park.

A total of £493 was raised, which will be used to help fund an additional after school project for children affected by the trauma of domestic abuse.

Bev Place, Business Development Manager said: “This was the first time we have held a fundraising event in Milnrow, and we were thrilled by people’s interest in the work of the charity and their generosity in providing monetary support.

“This money will be allocated to a new piece of work we are delivering for children who have lived in homes where domestic abuse has occurred, so we thank the people of Milnrow for helping to make this possible.

“We have a range of services that deal with the issue of domestic violence and abuse, including programmes for female victims and male perpetrators, alongside specialist provision for children and young people.

“Anyone requiring more information should contact one of the team at RCT for more details on 01706 345111.”
