Beech House School prom

Date published: 26 June 2019

Year 11 leavers from Beech House School arrived in their finery at the Royal Toby Hotel on the evening of Wednesday 19 June for a night to be remembered.

The young students made glamorous entrances and were greeted by a host of proud teachers and family members.

The function room had been dressed especially for the occasion in gold, and the setting certainly added more than a touch of sparkle to the night.

School Principal, Kevin Sartain said: “The students who organised the night put a great deal of thought and effort into the planning of the event, even going to the trouble of a pudding table decked out with miniature desserts and chocolate covered strawberries.”

After a delicious (and huge) three course meal, the much-anticipated dancing commenced.

With an eclectic mix of music ranging from 80s classics to current dance tracks, there was something for everyone.

Highlights that got both students and staff dancing included the Macarena, Cha Cha Slide, and the YMCA.

In between the partying on the dance floor, retired maths teacher Mr Rolands announced the awards for the night, Prom King and Prom Queen.

There was close competition for the winners, but the crowns were taken away by Hira Iqbal and Armaan Ansari.

Following a flurry of photographs, the dancing resumed, and a fantastic night was had by all.

School Principal, Kevin Sartain, said: "The prom was a wonderful send off to the 2019 cohort from Beech House School. Staff were honoured to have been able to share this night with them."
