The new bench outside the old Norden Library following fund raising by the Norden Women's Institute
A new bench is now in place outside the old Norden Library following fund raising by the Norden Women's Institute, plus match funding from the council, to celebrate the Institutes 20 Anniversary.
Moira Chamberlain from Norden Women’s Institute (W.I.) said: “We have been raising money to buy a bench to go outside the old Norden Library.
“We are pleased to say that with match funding from Rochdale Council the bench is now in place.
“We hope the bench is a useful addition to the village, especially as it is placed outside the little cafe and doctor's surgery.
“Many members from the W.I. attended for the ribbon cutting which was held on Friday 5 July.
“It is something we are very proud of.
“We hope many people appreciate it.”
