Heavy showers and thunderstorms on the way again

Date published: 30 July 2019

There may be some sunny spells today, Tuesday 30 July, but the afternoon will be fairly unsettled with heavy showers and thunderstorms. It will be a fairly breezy afternoon with temperatures around 22 degrees.

Tonight, showers or longer spells of rain will continue through the evening and overnight, some heavy and perhaps thundery and staying breezy.

On Wednesday 31 July, it will continue rather unsettled, potentially with heavy downpours, frequent lightning, hail and brisk winds, by the evening, the thunderstorms will peter out. The temperature will drop to around 19 degrees.

From Thursday 1 August to Saturday 3 August the unsettled theme will continue with showers or longer spells of rain at times. These could be heavy too and pose a threat of some lightning strikes. Temperatures will remain near average for the time of the year, around 22 -23 degrees and no significant winds are expected.
