Rochdale woman appears at Dublin High Court in connection with murder of David Gavin

Date published: 27 August 2019

A woman from Rochdale has appeared at the High Court in Dublin in connection with the murder of David Gavin.

Kelly Margaret Gray, 31, of Rochdale, appeared before the High Court on Monday (26 August) after she was arrested in Co. Offaly, Republic of Ireland, in connection with David’s murder earlier this year.

David, 23, of Castleton, died in hospital after receiving stab wounds during a fight on Berwick Street on 17 May.

David was married with a three-year-old daughter, and at the time of his death, his wife was expecting their second daughter.

Gray has been arrested on a European arrest warrant seeking her extradition to the UK, and has been remanded into custody ahead of a further court date in September.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Following the execution of a European arrest warrant in Southern Ireland, GMP will now support the extradition process with the Irish authorities."
