Heritage Open Days, OVO Energy Tour of Britain passing through Rochdale, Boutique Baby Sale Middleton, Memory Walk in aid of Alzheimers Society, Mind, Body & Spirit Fair at Hollingworth Lake, Adult Craft Workshop, Car Boot Sale, Live Music, Model Railway Group Open Day and a Saturday Ramblers Walk - lots to do in and around the borough this weekend.

Heritage Open Days – Fri 13 – Sun 15 Sept at various venues in Rochdale

Local buildings full of history will be open and free to explore this weekend, many of which include differing age, style and function across the borough all with fascinating guided walks, tours and talks.


Mind, Body and Spirit at the Lake – Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre, Sat 14 & Sun 15 Sept, 11.30am – 3.30pm

A variety of stalls both indoors and outdoors celebrating everything mind, body and spirit.


  • Friday 13 September

Rochdale Gramophone Society – St George’s Church Hall, 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Chairman's opening programme Serenade with presenter Gordon O'Brien.


Soul Train steams into Middleton – Middleton Arena, 7pm – 9.15pm

A fun live show of 60s and 70s soul classics.


Live Music: Boomin – The Flying Horse Hotel, band on 9.30pm

A fun, unpredictable epic Rock n Roll band from Wigan, UK.


Live Music: Oasis Maybe – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

Celebrate 25 years of Oasis with this tribute band live from 10pm.

  • Saturday 14 September

Heywood Model Railway Group Open Day – Unit 3 Park Works, 10am – 4pm

Have a look at our premises and model layouts, admission is free.


Rochdale Ramblers - Saturday Walks – Meet at Station Road, Whitworth, 10am

‘Up Over Yonder’ is a circular moderate walk over a distance of approximately 14 miles.


Adult Craft Workshops: Paper Quilling – Touchstones Rochdale, 10.30am – 12.30pm

Discover the art of quilling also known as paper filigree.


OVO Energy Tour of Britain passing through Rochdale – From Rochdale town centre to Norden, expected to arrive in Rochdale at 12noon

For the first time in 9 years, The Tour Of Britain returns to Rochdale.


Let's Get Together event – Lighthouse Project, 1pm – 4pm

Tenants of RBH and those who want to know more about its services are invited to this free event.


Boutique Baby Sale – Middleton – Bowlee Park Sports Centre, 2.30pm – 4pm

Over 35 stalls packed with thousands of baby and children’s bargains.


Live Music: Voltage – The Flying Horse Hotel, band on 10pm

Covering heavy rock including Thin Lizzy, KISS, Iron Maiden, Green Day and more.


Live Music: Ed Sheeran Experience – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

Jack Shepherd is an exceptional impersonator and is world renowned for his incredible performances.

Middleton Town Centre Car Boot Sale – Middleton Shopping Centre, 6am – 1pm

Held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.


Memory Walk in aid of Alzheimers Society – Start at Hollingworth Lake Visitors Centre, 10am

All proceeds to Alzheimers Society.
