New Centre of Wellbeing, Training and Culture online community channel

Date published: 19 September 2019

The Centre of Wellbeing, Training and Culture, Rochdale, has launched an online community channel on Wednesday (18 September).

The community channel has been designed to reach a diverse audience whilst engaging with access and support services to improve wellbeing and establish better cultural understandings.

A video of several recorded interviews was presented by the staff, Robina Kausar and Jabran Gill.

The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Aasim Rashid, Councillor Allen Brett, Leader of the Council, Fiza Niazi, acting Consul General of Pakistan, Councillor Janet Emsley, Link4Life, Asian Media, retired GPs, Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan Cancer Service, Kingsway High School, poets, community leaders and guests, who all welcomed the new online community channel.

Mohammed Sarwar, CEO of The Centre of Wellbeing, Training and Culture, thanked everyone for their support and said: “Over the last 29 years, the centre has engaged with many groups at local, national and international level, constantly reviewing and developing projects in line with the immediate and, perhaps future needs, of our diverse community.

“Over the coming weeks, The Centre of Wellbeing, Training and Culture will be bringing topics on local issues, health and wellbeing, art and culture, education and training, local monuments and places, interfaith services, voluntary sector and people with talent and experiences.

“We would love to hear from services, community organisations who can and really want to make a positive difference in the diverse community we live in.”

People will be able to share their experiences in the coming weeks, but you can also share experiences by emailing the Centre of Wellbeing, Training and Culture:
