Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run, Mum2Mum Market, Race Night, Autumn Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show, Sign Along With Us, Littleborough Brass Band concert, Oktoberfest, Jumble Sale, Autumn Fairs, a Jazz Dinner and a Comedy Night - lots to do in and around the borough this weekend.

  • Friday 4 October

Stories and Songs at Spotland Library – Spotland Library, 10.30am – 11.15am

Join volunteer storytellers for a fun new weekly session.


Castleton Literary & Scientific Society – Castleton Community Centre, 7pm

Learn about Castleton and the Lit & Sci from 125 years ago with speaker Dr David Shreeve.


Jazz Dinner – Cenetta (Royal Toby Hotel), 7pm arrival

With a Bellini on arrival, a 5-course menu of Italian flavours and live music throughout.


Race Night for Marie Curie  - Rochdale Football Club, 7.15pm

A fun Race Night for Rochdale Marie Curie Fundraising Group.


Comedy Night – Rochdale Sports Club, doors open 8pm for 8.30pm start

Guaranteed laughs and a great line up with 3 acts.


Live Music: Funktion & Co – The Flying Horse Hotel, band on 10pm

Part of the official Oktoberfest Rochdale afterparty! 


Live Music: Ultimate Leppard – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

Tribute to Def Leppard.

Autumn Fair – St Clement’s Church, 11am – 2pm

With stalls, tombola, bottle stall, cards and more.


Oktoberfest Middleton 2019 – Middleton Town Centre, 12noon – 7pm

5 live bands, real ales, Bavarian hotdogs and waffles and a street food gazebo.


Rochdale Literature & Ideas Festival – Rumi: The Alchemy of Love – Touchstones Rochdale, 12noon – 1pm

This event is poetry and performance with music.


Special Saturday Lunchtime Concert – Rochdale St Chad’s Parish Church, 12noon

With Izabella Goldstein (soprano) & Julia Laskowska (University of Manchester/Academy of Music of lodz, Poland).


Free Family Games Afternoon – Open Door Church, 2pm – 4.30pm

Young and old welcome, and everyone in between!


Jumble Sale – Christ Church Healey, 2pm

Good as new clothes, shoes, bags, household goods and toys.


Mum2Mum Market Rochdale – Heywood Sports Village, 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Toys, clothes, baby equipment, prams and maternity items. 


Sign Along With Us – Crimble Croft Community Centre, 3.30pm – 4.30pm

For ages 4+, learn to sign to songs in a fun and friendly environment.


Northern Soul & Motown Night – Bamford Bowling Club, 8pm – late

Local DJ's playing classic Soul, Motown and Northern Soul favourites.


The Dreamgirls Ultimate Ladies Night – Heywood Civic Centre, 8pm – 11pm

One of the UK’s favourite comedy drag double acts.


Live Music: The Jackson Kay Band – The Flying Horse Hotel, band on 10pm

The Jackson Kay Band play feel-good, party vibe, get up and dance tunes.


Live Music: Soul Revolution – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

12 Piece Funk & Soul Band.

Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run – From Rochdale Town Hall, first race at 10am

All races will be chip timed on fully marshalled traffic free courses, with a technical t-shirt and medal for finishers.


Fire Service Museum Monthly Open Day – Greater Manchester Fire Service Museum, 10am – 4pm

Historic firefighting artefacts, home-made refreshments and souvenirs.


Autumn Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show – Ellenroad Engine House Steam Museum, 11am – 4pm

Motorcycles, traction engines, classic cars, classic buses, trucks and more.


Hollingworth Lake Craft Fair – Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre, 11.30am – 3.30pm

First Sunday of the month welcomes the popular craft fairs.


Wedding Fayre – Mercure Norton Grange Hotel & Spa, 12noon – 4pm

Get ideas from a variety of experts including photographers, florists, caterers, entertainment specialists and formal wear hire.


Greater Manchester Cichlid Society Fish Auction – Littleborough Conservative Club, 1pm start

Auction of cichlids, catfish and dry goods.


Rachel's fundraiser for an elevator – Rochdale Rugby Union Club, 2.30pm

A band, raffle, tombola and lots more going on.


Littleborough Brass Band concert – Littleborough Coach House, 3pm – 5pm

A great afternoon of music featuring an all new programme.


Jazz on a Sunday – Newtown National Club, concert starts 7.45pm

This week we welcome Wirrorleans Jazz Band.
