Littleborough U3A celebrates with 5th birthday party

140 members of Littleborough's University of the Third Age (U3A) celebrated the club's fifth birthday on Monday 21 October.

Hosted at Littleborough Cricket Club, attendees enjoyed a buffet meal and entertainment by Hindle Wakes.

Launched in 2014, Littleborough U3A was set up for retired and semi-retired people to unite and explore together. The group takes part in opportunities which enhances their lives through learning and discovering.

Chair of Littleborough U3A, Sandra Kokocki, said: “The U3A is for anyone who is not working full time and wants to continue learning and socialising.

"We currently have 38 different groups, including five learning languages, various groups for healthy and creative lifestyles, choir, Ukuleles and many more. There is also a monthly meeting at Littleborough Coach House."

The club's Creative Writing Group are currently looking for Rochdale poets to be included in an anthology of poems on the subject of ‘Ageing’:
