Siddal Moor hosts senior citizens’ Christmas party

Date published: 13 December 2019

The festive celebrations began at Siddal Moor with the senior citizens’ Christmas party on Friday (6 December).

Residents from local care homes along with senior citizens from the local community came together to enjoy a Christmas party and entertainment provided by students from the performing arts department. This included a spectacular dance routine, solo and duet singing performances and the rock n pop choir.

Guests were served refreshments and a Christmas dinner whilst singing along to the usual Christmas classics.

A raffle was drawn with some great prizes donated by staff and students; many guests went home with a prize along with a handmade gift.

A spokesperson for the school said: “The afternoon proved a success and was a lovely opportunity for members of our community, both young and old to come together.

“Well done to the students who performed and thank you to Miss Whiteside for overseeing the organisation of the party, Mr Mulqueen for acting as compère and the team of student helpers for making sure everyone had a great time.”
