Extra Boxing Day buses for Bury and Rochdale

Bus service arrangements for the festive season are being unwrapped early to help customers plan journeys and make the most of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Hourly Boxing Day buses will run on Rosso’s Trax 468 service between Bury and Rochdale, and on Tottington Line 469 between Bury and Tottington.

Rosso’s Operations Manager Tony Fiocca said: “Our customers tell us they appreciate being able to visit family and friends, or to shop for bargains in the sales, on Boxing Day – a day when no trains will be running.

“Our buses will make travel easier across the festive season for a day or evening out, and our customers can look forward to a relaxing journey while we take care of the driving. We wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and look forward to welcoming them on-board our buses in the New Year.”

Details of Christmas and New Year schedules for Rosso’s bus services are as follows:

Monday, 23 December 2019: Saturday service on all routes.

Christmas Eve, Tuesday, 24 December 2019: Saturday service until evening, with last journeys as follows:

• 464: 18.43 Rochdale to Accrington; 18.10 Accrington to Bacup; 18.40 Accrington to Rawtenstall
• Trax 467: 18.35 Bury to Rochdale; 18.06 Rochdale to Bury
• Trax 468: 18.45 Bury to Rochdale; 17.48 Rochdale to Bury; 18.40 Rochdale to Bamford
• Service R1: 18.45 Rochdale to Syke Chapel; 18.56 Syke Chapel to Rochdale.
• Service R8 will not be running.

All other routes will run as normal, with last buses at the same time as usual.

Christmas Day, Wednesday, 25 December 2019: No service – as our buses and amazing drivers enjoy a family Christmas!

Boxing Day, Thursday, 26 December 2019: Special services on the following routes:

Trax 468: Buses every hour: first journey leaves Bury at 09.32, and Rochdale at 09.20; last bus leaves Bury at 17.32 and Rochdale at 16.20.

Friday, 27 December 2019: Saturday service.

Saturday and Sunday, 28 and 29 December 2019: Normal Saturday and Sunday service.

Monday 30 December 2019: Saturday service.

New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, 31 December 2019: Bus times and last journeys same as Christmas Eve;

New Year’s Day, Wednesday, 1 January 2020: No service

Thursday, 2 January 2020: Normal service resumes.
