Rochdale Rugrats Rugby team enjoy festive Christmas party

Date published: 02 January 2020

A Christmas party for the Rochdale Rugrats Rugby children’s team went down a storm on Saturday 21 December.

Organised by head coach Aidan Gleeson, the event saw a wondrous Santa’s grotto and even the Grinch popping in, thanks to Captain Jack’s Prop Shack.

Hot chocolates and homemade mince pies went down a treat and lots of people were successful on the raffle, which featured prizes donated from the Rochdale Hornets. A virtual reality stall was also hosted by The Grid VR.

All the children burnt off their energy on the Go Bouncy bouncy castle and many left the occasion with a character on their face or a fancy new glitter tattoo, courtesy of Fancy Faces.

Parents and grandparents alike praised the party, saying how they had a “great time” at such a “fantastic” event, thanking the coach.

Coach Gleeson said: “Thank you to everybody for attending and those who helped put the day together.”

Rochdale Rugrats is a youth rugby class for those between two and seven years of age. Approximately 40 children attended on the day.
