Heywood Veterans Association receive £3,500 cheque

The Heywood Veterans Association has received a cheque for £3,500 from the McColl’s retail store at Darnhill, Heywood.

The cheque was presented to the veterans’ association at the Sutherland Road store on Friday 20 December 2019.

Store manager, Nicola Cumpsty said: “Over the past year, a few McColl’s stores have been raising money for local charities.

“Staff and customers have been contributing to this cause with great enthusiasm. Our chosen charity for 2019 was Heywood Veterans Association because of the tremendous work they do.

“We were very proud at Sutherland Road McColl’s to have presented them with a cheque for £3,500.”

Chair of The Heywood Veterans Association, Chris Harris said: “ I would like to thank all those who have given generously to the year’s McColl chartable collection, every penny of this donation will go towards veterans, the community of Heywood, help us reach out to more veterans and support our armed forces family.

“I would also like to thank all members and volunteers of The Heywood Veterans Association for their time, hard work and effort and look forward to building on our successes in 2019 throughout 2020 and beyond.”
