Whilst many people will have been ringing in the New Year, and the new decade, in a traditional manner, several local families rang in the new decade with a new addition.
We have put together a gallery of some babies born on New Year's Day.
Isaac Stanley Howarth-Wild was born at 2.07am at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
He weighed 5lbs 8oz (2.5kg) and his parents are from Middleton.
Ruth Kleab was born to Rochdale parents at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Lucas John Ramsden was also another New Year’s Day baby, weighing 8lbs 4oz (3.7kg).
