A cheque for over £4,000 has been presented to the Alzheimer's Society by Janice Leonard, Lady Captain of Rochdale Golf Club.
Janice chose the Alzheimer's Society as her charity for her year as Lady Captain 2019, and various fundraising events were held throughout the year including a sponsored walk, a fashion show and a charity evening at the golf club.
The cheque, totalling £4,015.32 was presented to Danielle Freeman, of the Alzheimer's Society, on Thursday 9 January at the ladies' AGM.
Janice said: "Anyone who knows a person suffering from this terrible disease will be aware of the suffering it brings. It's frightening for the individual and upsetting for family and friends.
“Let's hope our donation goes some way to fund research and help sufferers in their everyday life.
“Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.”
