Police are investigating after ‘non-human’ bones were discovered on Turf Hill Road, Rochdale.
Officers were called to the road on Wednesday following reports that bones had been discovered.
The recovered bones have been confirmed as non-human, Rochdale Online understands.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 4.50pm on Wednesday 26 February, police were called to reports bones had been discovered on Turf Hill Road, Rochdale.
“A scene remains in place whilst enquiries are ongoing.”
