Local DJ’s 24-hour fundraiser for local elderly and vulnerable during coronavirus pandemic

A local DJ will be hosting a 24-hour livestream to raise funds for the elderly and vulnerable in Milnrow and Newhey during the current pandemic.

Zac Caulcutt has gained much media, radio and television coverage from around the world regarding his “24 Hour Party” he’s hosting this weekend, starting at 10am tomorrow (Saturday 27 March).

Zac told Rochdale Online: “The idea originally came about after speaking to one of my close friends. He mentioned an organisation sending care packages of essentials to the elderly and vulnerable in Milnrow and Newhey and I wanted to do my part for the cause.

“I started some Facebook Lives and not only has the feedback been amazing, but it has brought viewers together, lifted spirits and give everybody a smile back whilst being indoors unable to leave their homes.

“With the country in a lockdown state, this is a difficult time for many of us. This is a great cause and the packages are currently being sent to those who are isolated with no family or those with family who can’t get to them.

“For all local businesses who would like to be featured and mentioned with your business logo displayed on the stream which is played and watched across the globe every night please get in touch. All I ask is for a cash donation to the cause.”

The livestream will include plenty of music and listener interaction throughout, as Zac hopes to reach his target of £1,000.
