Go on a virtual Easter egg hunt around Rochdale town centre this Easter

Date published: 09 April 2020

An exciting and immersive virtual Easter egg hunt around Rochdale town centre has been launched by the Rochdale BID, starting on Good Friday (10 April).

Fly around Rochdale town centre with 360 movement to find six hidden Easter eggs using cryptic and plentiful pun-filled clues. When each egg is found, an exciting fact will be revealed alongside a letter which will spell out a word.

Once you know what the word is, simply email the BID with your details (paul@rochdalebid.co.uk) to be entered into a prize draw to win a voucher for a local restaurant when they are re-open.

Paul Ambrose, BID manager said: “To complement the arrival of Dippy, we were running a DinoDale trail around the town centre, which had proven to be really popular.  Unfortunately, due to the situation we find ourselves in, we have had to put all DinoDale activities on hold.

“So, using the concept of the DinoDale trail, we created the Virtual Easter Egg Hunt, which we hope you will all enjoy and give you an insight into some of our incredible venues so that when life begins to return back to normal, we can all visit them for real.”

Dan Root, the architect behind the technology, stated: “360 technology is the ultimate tool to practice social distancing as it allows users to virtually walk around a business premises from the comfort and safety of their own home via a computer, mobile device or even a virtual reality headset.

“It’s the next best thing to being there in person.”
