Storytime sessions for children with local author

Date published: 16 April 2020

Award -winning children’s author, Adam Perrott, will be live streaming a special dinosaur storytime this Saturday at 10am.

The Middleton writer, whose book Eerie Deidre Darkly, won the Beryl Bainbridge Award for a first time author in 2011, will be reading Dinosaurs Love Underpants and Funnybones: Dinosaur Dreams with a musical accompaniment to help keep children busy during the lockdown.

Adam said: “I do regular storytime sessions at Alkrington library and I didn’t want children to miss out because they can’t go to the library at the moment, so I’m bringing storytime to them.

“As a failed rockstar, I like to add a bit of rhythm and blues to nursery rhymes and you haven’t heard the hokey-cokey until you’ve heard it at song time.”

Adam will be live streaming his dino storytime on the council’s Facebook page at 10am on Saturday. People can sign up on the Facebook page now to get reminders:

Adam also livestreams his storytimes during the week on his own Facebook page, Adam Perrott:
