Amir Khan and Human Appeal team up to help families in need

Champion pro boxer Amir Khan and Manchester-based humanitarian charity Human Appeal have been working together to provide for communities around Greater Manchester who are in need during lockdown, packing up 17,000 items in Rochdale on Friday 1 May.
Human Appeal and the Amir Khan Foundation hit Haji Cash & Carry in Rochdale to pack up 17,000 items into 1,000 food parcels, including everyday essentials such as tinned foods, long-life milk, biscuits, pita bread, teabags and flour.
The parcels were delivered to families in Rochdale and across Greater Manchester over the weekend, however as long as there are families in need, both Human Appeal and Amir Khan have vowed to continue working together as well as with other businesses and charities around the region.
Speaking after the latest round of deliveries, Amir Khan said: "It was amazing to join Human Appeal to put together so many food parcels and deliver them to those who need them most.
"Seeing the smiles on people's faces as we dropped them off made it all worth it, and brought home the scale of the effort needed to look after our most vulnerable people during what is a testing time for all of us.
"The work Human Appeal & Amir Khan Foundation has been doing is inspiring, bringing people together when we all have to stay physically apart. I look forward to working with them again as we help even more people."
