Springhill thanks the businesses of Rochdale for their generous donations of PPE

Date published: 13 May 2020

Springhill Hospice has received overwhelming support from local businesses and members of the public with recent donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during the pandemic.

Springhill Hospice has recently received donations of PPE to help protect both staff and patients at the hospice, through the generosity of local businesses and members of the public who have donated disposable gloves, hand sanitiser, aprons and more to be used by their frontline staff.

The hospice is continuing to run its palliative care services both in the hospice and out in the community throughout the current pandemic, which has meant an increased need for PPE, in particular for frontline workers at the hospice. With many donations in recent weeks, the Hospice have been overwhelmed with the support they have received.

A selection of local businesses and members of the community have not only helped with donating PPE, but they have also moved online with their fundraising efforts in light of many of the hospices’ regular events being cancelled and postponed.

Julie Halliwell, Chief Executive of Springhill Hospice said, “We have been overwhelmed with the support and donations of PPE we have received from local businesses and members of the community over the last few weeks. Keeping our staff and patients safe is vital, especially in the current climate. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported Springhill and continues to do so.”
