Roads in Rochdale painted with thank you messages

Date published: 15 May 2020

Two roads in Rochdale have been painted with messages to thank key workers.

The markings are now down at Whitehall Street at the approach to Rochdale Infirmary and outside Birch Hill Hospital.

Councillor Neil Emmott, cabinet member for environment at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “The efforts of our key workers during this awful pandemic have been super human. From medical staff to care workers, social workers, waste operatives and many more, they have all worked incredibly hard in an unprecedented situation. We hope this gesture of thanks highlights how much we value their extraordinary efforts and helps to put a smile on their face.”
