Definition Art Studio prints of Rochdale to raise money for local charities

Date published: 10 September 2020

Local graphic design team Definition Art Studio will be donating 50% of profits from its Rochdale collection of prints to local charities, the GEM Appeal and Springhill Hospice.

Definition Art Studio has created special edition wall art prints of Rochdale under the heading of ‘Our Beautiful Town.’

Rochdale is full of beautiful architecture, rolling hills, nature reserves and buildings which Definition are keen to champion, such as the magnificent Grade-I listed town hall – widely recognised as one of the finest municipal buildings in the country – the hills and reservoirs circling the area, and the abundance of natural wildlife in many local beautiful parks.

The GEM Appeal raises money to fund research and find cures for genetic diseases, and was founded in 1994 by Karen Johnson, of Rochdale, whose sons, Simon and Mikey, were born with Hunter Syndrome. Tragically, both boys lost their lives to the incurable disease at the age of 12, but their names live on in the Willink Unit laboratory at Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Springhill Hospice provides a range of specialist palliative care services to people in the Rochdale area from diagnosis to end-of-life.

Financial support is extremely important to the hospice, which relies on donations to raise in excess of £3.2m every year – or £8,928 per day – to provide its vital services.
