Couple lose key to 'expensive' handcuffs – and call the police

A man phoned the police after his girlfriend locked him in handcuffs before losing the key.

Rochdale police received the call at 4.30am on Friday morning (18 September).

When police arrived, the couple said they hadn’t called the fire brigade as the handcuffs were ‘expensive’ and they were concerned the cuffs would be cut off.

Fortunately, the police managed to release the man from his restraints.

GMP Rochdale shared the tale via Twitter: “0430hrs. Male phoned requesting help as his girlfriend had locked him in some handcuffs and they couldn’t now find the key. “Wanted Police as he feared the Fire Brigade would cut them and they were expensive. Male released ...”
