Local businesses asked to Wear their Woollies to Work for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 09 October 2020

Springhill Hospice is encouraging local businesses to take part in their Wear your Woollies to Work campaign this December, to help Springhill provide vital end of life care for patients in the local community.

Registration for the event opened on Friday 2 October when employers and employees can sign up and show their support over the coming months. Wear Your Woollies is an easy way for businesses to support Springhill whether staff are in the office or working from home.

Employees can take part in various fundraising activities simply by donning their favourite Christmas or woolly jumper for the day, or if you’re up for a challenge you could run a Best Dressed Competition, or Festive Bake Off. As part of the event, Springhill is asking for everyone taking part to donate a couple of pounds to contribute to the specialist care services provided by the hospice.

Signing up to the event can be done by visiting the hospice website at www.springhill.org.uk/wear-your-woollies

Once registered, participating companies will receive a fundraising pack from the hospice detailing how to make the most of their Wear Your Woollies to Work event!

With many events being cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Springhill’s Wear your Woollies to Work campaign provides a bit of fun in the festive period, it’s also easy for everyone to get involved in – whether you’re working from the office, from home, you’re a one-man band or a large organisation.

Rochdale Training has already signed up for Springhill’s Wear your Woollies to Work. Mark Whittaker of Rochdale Training, said: “Rochdale Training are pleased to support Wear your Woollies to Work day. Our employees, apprentices and trainees will be taking part and always welcome the chance to support a great local cause for our community. Thanks to all the team at Springhill Hospice!”

Wear your Woollies to Work Day is due to take place on Friday 11 December, although companies can take part throughout December on a date that suits them. For more information, please contact the Fundraising Team on 01706 641790 or email fundraising@springhill.org.uk
