Heavy rain overnight

Heavy rain is expected again from 9pm tonight (7 October) until around 9am tomorrow morning.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain over parts of northern England, including Greater Manchester, the Midlands and Wales. Moving east overnight, 20-30mm of rainfall is likely across parts of the warning area.

Following recent very wet weather, some travel disruption and flooding is likely.

What to expect

  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
