Groundwork Prince’s Trust now recruiting 19–25-year-olds for next programme

Some of the local young people who have previously celebrated the completion of Groundwork Prince’s Trust 13-week programme

Groundwork Prince’s Trust is recruiting for the next Prince’s Trust 13-week programme on self-development, employability, and community skills, starting 1 February.

Delivered remotely via Zoom due to lockdown, the Prince’s Trust Team programme is a personal development course, offering qualifications and practical skills designed to boost your confidence and open the door to work or further training.

Usually based at Spotland Community Centre on Spotland Road, where the team room is based, the programme is for young people who are not in employment, training, or education and to be eligible to join, you will need to be in receipt of benefits.

There is no residential, work placement or community project this year.

Jean Byrnes, Prince’s Trust Assistant Team Leader, said: “We are still working on confidence and communication skills, teamwork, and employability including CV writing, interview preparation and mock interviews, future plans and general self-development.

"The programme is delivered in a relaxed way and the young people have lots of input. We also have some equipment we could loan to young people in certain circumstances.

“We have lots of activities planned and sessions on different things such as British Sign Language, health and safety and body positivity, to mention a few. They are all designed to build confidence or communication skills which are needed to gain employment once all the lockdowns are over and we move back to a normal society.

“At the end of the programme, you will gain a nationally recognised Prince’s Trust qualification.”
