Littleborough singer signed to one of ‘biggest dance companies in the world’

Date published: 07 February 2021

Local singer / songwriter Danny Dearden is fast establishing himself as one to watch in the music world.

A former X Factor contestant from Littleborough, 2021 has got off to a great start for Danny with February marking the official release of his single ‘Weight of the World’ with Russian production duo Going Deeper.

Having just signed to Sentric / Black Rock - what Danny describes as ‘one of the biggest dance companies in the world’, he will also release ‘Dial My Number’ featuring fellow singer / guitarist Ethan James this month.

Danny said: “Whilst continuing with my long-standing management team ‘UpSide Records’ I’ve just signed a worldwide publishing and neighbouring rights deal with Sentric Music / Black Rock Publishing.

“I have a brand-new track out ‘Weight of The World’ with Russian house duo ‘Going Deeper’ on Friday 5 February.

“My next track after that is signed to one of the biggest Dance/House labels in the world ‘Spinnin Records’. This will be my third release with this label.

“The last release with them has reached nearly 8 million streams on Spotify and I now have over 20 million streams combined and I’m hoping these next two tracks will help me to grow those numbers further.”

To date, Danny’s combined streams on Spotify alone are now at more than 15 million and his monthly listeners peaked at more than 600,000 individuals in 2020.

Last year, he collaborated for the second time with French producer Michael Calfan on ‘Could Be You’, which he co-wrote with Michael and British singer and songwriter Kelli-Leigh. The track, which has almost 8 million streams on Spotify alone, has been played on BBC Radio 1, Scott Mills Party Anthems and even had a 2-minute synch on ITV 2’s popular summer series Love Island.

His first collaboration with Michael ‘It’s Wrong’ was added to numerous Spotify playlists for the public to enjoy and even reached Top 10 in the Music Week Pop Chart, now having over 3 million streams.

Not only that, his self-released ‘Take on the World’ peaked at number 6 on the iTunes Singer / Songwriter Chart and was also featured on BBC Introducing, where it was described as ‘huge’ and ‘anthemic’.

The local lad started his career by recording and uploading YouTube covers and singing at local events to gain experience and build up his confidence, before auditioning for the X Factor in 2014. Danny has also previously hosted charity and fundraising events.

His most recent event was held virtually in April 2020 when he hosted a live show via Facebook to ‘reach out to as much of the community as he could to unite the town during the current pandemic’.
