Car leaves scene after driving over pedestrian's foot when mounting pavement

A stolen car failed to stop after mounting the pavement and driving over a pedestrian’s foot in Rochdale on Thursday morning (11 February).
The white Audi TT was caught on CCTV driving onto the pavement to undertake a lorry, before colliding with the pedestrian and leaving the scene.
The dangerous driver was also captured driving the Audi on the wrong side of Moss Bridge Road.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 9.10am on Thursday 11 February 2021, police were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Crawford Street, Rochdale.
“The car failed to stop following the collision and no arrests have been made.”
The owner of the vehicle, who was not driving at the time, has confirmed to Rochdale Online that the car was stolen from his home the same day.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police on 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers.
This article was updated at 5.16pm on 19 February 2021 to include that the car was stolen.
