Three people have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out in Littleborough on Monday morning (15 February).

The North West Ambulance Service confirmed it took three patients to hospital and treated another at the scene near the Golden Star Chinese takeaway on Todmorden Road after being called at 9.29am.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: “We mobilised several resources to the scene including two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and members of a hazardous area response team (HART). We’ve taken three patients to hospital and treated another at the scene.”

Four fire engines from Rochdale, Littleborough and Chadderton fire stationsarrived quickly at the scene and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a smoke curtain to extinguish the fire.

Greater Manchester Police has also been contacted for comment.
