Filming in Queen’s Park Heywood

Filming for a Sky TV drama has taken place in Heywood’s Queen’s Park this week.

Understood to be for the forensic crime drama Wolfe, filming in the park has taken place since Monday 1 March and will wrap on Thursday (4 March).

MP for the area, Chris Clarkson, said he was 'looking forward' to seeing part of his constituency on TV when the programme airs.

Rochdale Borough Council also said it was looking 'forward to seeing this fabulous location hit our screens'.

Created by Shameless producer Paul Abbott, Wolfe will feature Rogue One actor Babou Ceesay as the 'brilliant but flawed' forensic pathologist, Professor Wolfe Kinteh, the finest crime scene investigator in the north of England.

The six-part AbbottVision series is written by a team led by Abbott and will co-star Amanda Abbington (Sherlock), Natalia Tena (Harry Potter), Naomi Yang (Poisonings), Adam Long (Vera), and Shaniqua Okwok (Small Axe).

Wolfe will premiere on Sky One and stream on Now TV in the autumn.
