Fisherfield nurseries raise over £1,200 for Rochdale and District RSPCA

Fisherfield Childcare nurseries in Rochdale and Bury have raised over £1,200 for the Rochdale and District branch of the RSPCA.

The money was raised by children, parents and staff, taking part in and organising carious fundraising activities and events. In total, £1,220 was raised for the cause.

Events included Valentine’s sweets and treats, ‘Come Dine With Me’ (organised by the nursery cooks), World Book Day story sacks, cake sales, pancake day home bake kits, Mother’s Day luxury afternoon tea and self-care hampers, a sponsored welly waddle, a colour fest, a sponsored sports week, plus lots of fun activities leading up to Easter including Easter bonnet parades and Easter egg hunts in the nursery gardens.

Cherine Rasul, nursery manager of Rochdale’s Fisherfield Childcare, said: “We have lots more exciting ideas for activities and events to take part throughout the remainder of the year.

“Hopefully, we can raise even more money for the RSPCA and help to make a difference to the lives of our furry friends and companions.”

A spokesperson from RSPCA Rochdale said: “A massive thank you to the families, children and staff for all their hard work and fundraising activities. The money will be well spent and make a massive difference to animals which come through our centre.”

Fisherfield Childcare has been raising money for the Rochdale and District branch of the RSPCA since August 2020 after a vote was put to parents and children to choose the charity.
