HMR Circle and Dale Community Trust hiring a Community Engagement Officer - Older Persons' Champion

Date published: 09 May 2021

Rochdale AFC Community Trust and HMR Circle are looking to recruit an Older Persons' Champion - their first joint role as part of the groups’ partnership.

Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Circle – which supports the over 50s in the borough – joined forces with the community trust in April 2021, launching its expanded Centre Circle programme for those over the age of 50.

The new Community Engagement Officer - Older Persons' Champion will be based at the Crown Oil Arena and split their time between HMR Circle and Rochdale AFC Community Trust, working to develop the Centre Circle concept as well as the targeted work with the over 50s of Circle and Rochdale AFC Community Trust.

Centre Circle offers people the chance to take part in low level physical activity sessions and social activities each Thursday, adding to the extensive offer already provided by Circle utilising the expertise of the football club's official charity.

Activities are fun, aimed at beginners and will include bowls, t-ball (adapted rounders), walking football and other light/moderate activities, as well as a cup of tea and a biscuit.
