Motorbike vlogger creates micro-documentary about the annual Ring of Red Ride of Remembrance

A motorbike vlogger has filmed a micro-documentary about the annual Ring of Red Ride of Remembrance.

Organised by Jeanette Netty Keily, the Ring of Red Ride M60 is an annual event showing support for members of the Armed Forces, both current and former members. Held on Remembrance Sunday, thousands of bikers wearing red take to the M60 ring road from Birch Services – appearing to make a huge red poppy when viewed from above.

Herself a biker, Saffron Sheriff – known by her online persona Saffy Sprocket – has previously attended the event three times before documenting the hard work of the volunteers.

Saffron, who has two law degrees, currently works in marketing and has been creating videos for YouTube for 11 months. Her Saffy Sprocket YouTube channel has over 6,400 subscribers.

The 29-year-old, who now lives in Chester, said: “I’ve worked very closely with the Brass Knuckle Riders on this event. I’ve known the club for quite some time as I lived in Rochdale for six years.

“Originally, they asked me to attend and film a video as an attendee. However, when I arrived on-site, I quickly came to realise this should be more about the volunteers that work all year round to make this event happen. I really wanted to make something special that shows off their hard work.”

Saffron added: “I have a fondness for video making in my spare time.

“I've always dedicated time to volunteering in the community before this, working in food banks, volunteering with kids and also assisting with voluntary legal support.”

Saffron has also been nominated in the Motorbike TV Peoples Awards for best motorbike social media channel for her original creative channel content which includes reviews, guides and trips, plus useful tips for fellow bikers.
